Things to come...
So here is an update on what's coming up in my life:
1. I am going to start writing for the web site: examiner.com (I will be a nutrition writer, right up my alley for sure!)... When I get my web page, etc I will post a link here to it so you can all follow me there... and spread the word to your friends, etc! I need readers/viewers/comments!!!
2. I will be continuing to intern @ KMGH (ABC) in Denver (Sunday & Tuesday morning shifts... 6am call time on Sunday & 4am call time on Tuesday)
3. I will be going down to Santa Fe for 4th of July... My family has a home there and we just redid our kitchen & constructed an outdoor kitchen... bring on the grilling!!
4. My 23rd Birthday is in ONE WEEK... ew I am getting up there... Any ideas on what I should do?
....
Yea, not too much. You know I would have added one more thing although I think if I mention it I might throw my computer out the window because I am soooo dang angry about it right now! GRRRRR!! These past 2 days have been completely wasted! I will never get them back, EVER!

I Sprung Forward...

All I have to say is... I went to bed last night at around 11 (or I guess it was midnight) and I woke up this morning @ 3:30 (although the clock now says 4:30)... I had to go intern at ABC DENVER - Now I enjoy interning a great deal but MAN WAS WAKING UP EARLY THIS MORNING BRUTAL... Oh well, at least I can come home and NAP after wards!
So yea, Happy Springing Peoples!!
Get to bed early tonight! I just read that the most accidents occur the Monday after the Spring time change because we are not adjusted to the one less hour of sleep!

WTF was he thinking? Ah I know!
THIS MAN....

IS AN IDIOT (and that's me being clean & nice*...)
*What he really is, is a slut bag who just wants some hot and heavy sex... Granted, I don't BLAME HIM... but if he wants marriage, he DEFINITELY chose the wrong one... but if he wants a stripper-esque type who seems pretty unreliable... then he chose wonderfully!

Ready?
So this morning I woke up to a pleasant looking white covering on the grass and streets... A.K.A. SNOW... And While this white dust is "pleasant" to look at... it's not all that pleasant to go out in, but of course, that's exactly what I had to do!

I'm currently at my internship at ABC in Denver, CO... but I live in Boulder and it took me 45 minutes to get here because of the reduced speeds on the highway.
It seems like the winter months cause a lot of problems that slow things down... would you agree?
I try so hard to grin and bear it but right now I just wish I was snuggled up in my bed with a cup of hot tea, watching a movie or napping. I know though, that I will be happy with myself come Monday and Tuesday when I can do just that (because M & T is my "weekend").
So who's ready for the winter months? Seen any snow yet? Currently here it's 20 degrees and quite gloomy!
The only thing that excites me about the winter months... the HOLIDAYS! I am obsessed with Thanksgiving and Christmas - they couldn't come sooner!

Along with my complaining I thought I would list some ways in which we can all prepare for the harsh winter ahead (well at least it will be harsh here in Colorado, I can just feel it... literally!)
*Driving in the Winter Tips:
- Use Snow Tires
- Use Headlights at all Times
- In a Blizzard Use Your Hazard Lights
- Invest in a Windshield Scraper
- Drive SLOWLY - quickly slowing down won't help curb swerving
- Clean Hood of Car When Clearing Windshield
- Carry a Clean Cloth in Your Car at all Times
*Stock Your Home With:
- Blankets, Sweatshirts, Jackets, Scarves, etc (DUH - ha ha)
- Shovel
- Sand & Rock Salt
- Canned Food & Can Opener
- Matches
- Flash Lights
- Batteries
- Wood (for a fire in the fire place)
- Tea, Coffee, Cocoa & Hot Water
- Soup & Broth
- Camping Grill/ BBQ Stove - if the power goes out, this could be a good thing to have... if you're oven, etc is electric!
- Board Games, Cards, etc
- Pet Supplies - if you have a pet of course
Of course there are things you need to do to "winterize" your house, like clean out gutters, etc but let's hope you already know that if you are a home owner (I myself am not so I don't have to worry about that aspect)...
Otherwise, enjoy your winter as much as you can... in my next post: I'll discuss ways to fight off getting SICK - because we ALL KNOW how annoying it is to be sick and not feel good one bit!

Looking Into The Future
So it's Friday - Party!!! Oh yea, that's me for sure... Any ways - not to bum anyone out but I am already thinking about Monday because... Monday is the first day I start my new job (well, it's actually an internship but still - I want it to progress into a job someday so I must treat it that way). I will be interning at ABC (yes the TV station).
I thought I might talk about what to wear when you're on the job. While I know all jobs require different things, generally no one can walk into work wearing PJ bottoms and a see-through night shirt (which is honestly TOO BAD because that is the bulk of the contents in my closet!)... Since my closet consists of mainly these things, I had to ram shack my mother's closet to find some professional gear (and don't worry my mother has good taste, I am NOT going to be wearing anything from back in the 70s or 80s that have shoulder pads and checkers!).
So ladies... if you're struggling to figure out what to wear in a professional setting... here is what I have come up with:
1. Blazers... back in the day everyone cringed at the word blazer but honestly, these days there have been VAST improvements and a lot of blazers are quite cute (that is if you get them fitted properly)...
*Some brand names I have in my closet: Tahari, Barneys, Theory, Gianfranco Ferre
2. Unripped, Neat Pants... so here is where I will be cheating a bit but honestly I think I may be able to get away with it because these pants are very good quality with no rips, tears, etc... I will be wearing yoga pants. I know what you're thinking but if you check out HARD TAIL or SO LOW brand yoga pants you might see that I am not completely off my rocker - these pants are legit and since the blazers I will be wearing cover the waist region, the fold-over probably will not be seen.
*Some brands I have in my closet: Hard Tail, So Low, Feathers, Juicy Couture
3. High Heeled Sneakers... who am I kidding, I can't go on shoot location, fetch coffee at the speed of light or even climb stairs in high heels that have no back strap and since it is turning fall... soon to be winter, I need some close toe action. Whoever invented high heeled sneakers is a pure genius! I could run a marathon in these sucks PLUS they give me 3 to 5 more inches on my midget height and are comfortable so I don't have to worry about blisters while interviewing the star of the Broncos.
*Some brands I have in my closet: Steve Madden, MIA, Guess, Nanette Lapore, Michael Kors
4. Flowy and Neat Tube Tops... once again I know what you're thinking, but in a cold studio like ABC (the equipment needs a cold environment to work at their peak)... I definitely WON'T be taking off my blazer, in fact I will probably be putting another one on! So in my eyes, I believe that wearing a little shirt that doesn't overpower the beautiful blazer you will be donning is a fashion DO... although really who am I... I went to class today in soffe shorts, an over sized Jackson Hole fleece sweater and a t-shirt that was a bit too long for my short torso...
*Some brands I have in my closet: Victoria Secret
5. Purse... what woman doesn't own one of these magical bags... the things we can tuck away in these bad boys is awesome! Personally I get tote bags large enough so that I can put a water bottle, a tupperwear container (lunch - must take that with me), 6 packs of gum (yea, excessive but true), my wallet, keys, cell phone, really pretty much the entire contents of my apartment goes in there - I am sure when people see my bulging bag they wonder if a small puppy will pop out... if only, I would love a mini doberman pinscher!
*Some brands I have in my closet: Coach, Balenciaga, Chloe
~So yea, that's my list in a nutshell... anyone have anything I forgot - Feel free to let me know!

What's Most Important
So I just got an internship for the fall at channel 7... or as some may know it at ABC... in Denver, Colorado. There are three shifts that I can choose to intern during...
Shift #1: 4am until 1pm
Shift #2: 8:30am until 5:30pm
Shift #3: 2pm until 10:30pm
Now I must also bare in mind that the commute to Denver is anywhere from 25 to 50 minutes (depending on the hours and traffic - probably closer to 50 minutes at 8:30am and 25 minutes at 2pm)... and on top of that commute I MUST exercise before starting the day NO MATTER WHAT... So what do you think is more important, sleep or exercise? I am in a bind right now because I know no matter what I am going to be lacking sleep this fall and won't be able to catch up on it until Winter Break (which is mid-December)...
While it would be ideal to get BOTH sleep and exercise (exactly what I am doing now because my on-line class doesn't require me to go anywhere at any specific hour)... I have a feeling a couple times during this internship I am going to have to forfeit one of them and since I am such a gym rat... it may just be the sleep component which will do a number on the bags under my eyes! ha ha.
According to some other websites... getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep is TOPS over waking up early to exercise... so does that mean I shouldn't feel guilty if I don't work out a couple times?
But other websites tell me that working out in the morning is PRIMAL... so should I sacrifice sleep?
(Look at what I would MISS if I didn't exercise! Ha - probably NOT actually considering I would be up before the sun - and I wouldn't go hiking that early because the animals would EAT ME!)
Man what a tough decision considering these two activities are my favorite! Perhaps I can work out my "own hours" with my internship coordinator? Yeah right, I cannot "make my own hours" until I get a lot higher up in the journalism "food chain"... Right now I am a slice of ham.... when I become Prime Grass-fed Fillet Mignon... then MAYBE I can start dictating what I want! But for now I just need to BUST MY BUTT (hm, I guess I am going with the exercise?) - I mean honestly, how many people can say they got the experience to intern at a news station which really means going "behind the scenes" at all sorts of different places!
No matter what - experience triumphs BOTH sleep and exercise!
